For Nicklaus, Canadian Open was one elusive title
When Jack Nicklaus was tapped to lead the U.S. Presidents Cup team for a fourth time in 2007 at Royal Montreal Golf Club in Quebec, Canada, few could argue that the legendary golfer didn't deserve the opportunity, especially after he calmly guided the Americans to an inspired victory in the '05 edition at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Va.

Storylines: Buckeyes show support, Cook named Honorary Chairman
WILL ANOTHER ALL-AMERICAN TAKE THE TITLE? -- In a very improbable development last year, Daniel Summerhays became the first amateur in the history of the Nationwide Tour to win an event when he captured the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational in July. Summerhays, who was coming off his senior season at BYU, was one of seven NCAA Division I First-Team All-Americans who were invited and competed in the inaugural event. This year's college participants will have a tough act to follow. Vying for the title will be First-Team All-Americans Jonas Blixt/Florida State, Kevin Chappell/UCLA, Rickie Fowler/Oklahoma State, Rory Hie/USC, Sihwan Kim/Stanford, Jamie Lovemark/USC and Michael Thompson/Alabama. Fowler is the world's top-ranked amateur, according to the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

As part of the New Game, New Thinking series (click here to learn more), Turnesa, who has finished inside the top 25 twice this season, recently spent some time with PGATOUR.com freelance writer Rudy Klancnik:

Scott Pianowski is The Fantasy Insider; Steve Dennis is a PGA TOUR staffer who digs through FedExCup points data for fun. (We don't get it, either.) They tend to analyze the TOUR from very different perspectives, and now they're going head-to-head in the first of their weekly e-mail exchanges going Inside the FedExCup.

Golf in Paradise isn't a dream on the islands of Madeira and Mallorca
There is a misconception among many seasoned golfers that any time you find a resort location including golf among its offerings, the golf courses will be mediocre -- average run of the mill courses, geared toward wannabe golfers and weekend hackers. Often politely referred to in politically correct terms such as "Holiday Golf" or "Resort Golf", too many serious golfers mistakenly think every layout located in or close to any resort will have no appeal for them.

Looking for the perfect island golf escape? Head to Europe
Ever dream of running away to a desert island and escaping from it all? It's one of those classic dreams most of us have at one time or another and although it may seem a wonderful idea at first, it doesn't take too long before our sensible side points out the drawbacks of desert island living. Desert islands may have swaying palm trees, crystal clear waters and pristine beaches, but that's about it.

The PGA TOUR heads to Oakville, Ontario, this week for the RBC Canadian Open. Defending champion Jin Furyk will be attempting to win his third straight Canadian Open -- it would be his first win of the season, and Furyk rarely makes it through a season without at least one victory.
